I got that issue. I couldn’t resist. I saw Saddam’s buggy eyes and that was it. That mag was MINE. The sad thing is, my mom got ahold of it, and she couldn’t put it down. She made clucking sounds about how “bad things are getting” and “you know, some of this could be _true!_” Remind me to tell you sometime about how she embarassed me in church once by starting to talk about how they finally found Bigfoot. ---

Oh my gawd, I saw that cover at the grocery store and about fell down from laughter. You have got to admire the WWN for producing this level of comedy consistently for so long. (My favorite story ever was the guy who sneezed, and shot his false teeth out of his mouth, which flew across the room, got his wife upside the head and killed her dead. That or maybe the women who was attacked by static cling.) ---

I bought that issue and about pissed my pants in line laughing. I LOVE WWN, I really do. My goal in life is to someday work in their offices, even for free. Schlepping coffee- anything. I worship them. Batboy lives forever! Of course, the best part of the WWN is that they DO pepper it with bizzare true stories so you’re never quite sure what all is made up and what has some truth. Gooooo BATBOY! ---

I saw a story once on a newsmagazine about WWN. They have this wonderful attitude towards the truth: All anybody has to do is call them up and tell them something, and it obviously HAS to be true! My personal favorite was the time they discovered heaven on the other side of the galaxy – with PHOTOS! 🙂 ---

LOL. I love the weekly world news. Once when I had a big deadline looming and we were going to be obviously late, I bought a copy of the WWN that said the world was ending on Wednesday and told my crew that the pressure was off… We had a good laugh and did what we could and were only two weeks late. ---

The WWN is great! I’ve been checking their website regularly to get ideas for a modern roleplaying game I run.
