Irish cat cares for three ducklings

The video was adorable, but I laughed out loud when they showed the grown ducks solemnly following the mother cat, even though at that point they were bigger than her. SO CUTE. ::dies::

Imprinting.

Yes, thank you, I know what imprinting is. :slight_smile:

Sure, when the kittens teach the ducklings to meow, purr and chase mice! :slight_smile:

Still don’t understand why the Mother would take them in, especially since she just gave birth (protection instinct). Any ideas?

Holy freakin Jebus. Shot through the heart with cute, I am. :slight_smile:

Such a darling wee kitty! And with green eyes yet! :slight_smile:

It’s exactly the fact that she just gave birth. Her hormones are crazy and she wants to PROTECT AND NUTURE ALL THE THINGS. :slight_smile:

:: purrs ::

Ducks can suckle? :confused:

Something strange going on there.

This as my first thought. After I picked my squee drenched self of the floor that is.
Thanks for sharing this, EH!
