# Irony can be so ironic (60 minutes jurors)

A few weeks ago, 60 minutes did a piece on Jefferson County, Mississippi and the unusually large court awards handed out by juries there in product liability cases. The segment went on to say how lawyers are tripping over each other to file cases in that county. 60 minutes interviewed some jurors in the show as well.

Now, two of those jurors are [suing 60 minutes](http://www.cnn.com/2002/LAW/12/10/jurors.lawsuit.ap/index.html) for **$6 billion** for “defaming” them in the process.

Not really going to comment on this as the damages will be chopped way down if this case ever even sees the light of day, but it seems they may be hurting their case, ya think?

“Your honor, we are not excessively litigatious, and we’ll sue you for $6 billion if you don’t believe us”

You know these two guys were sitting in the jury box green with envy, wondering how they could get a piece of this action. They must have had a party when the 60 Minutes report ran.
