Personally, I think that a judge shouldn’t promote their own agenda from the bench. I’d be interested in the reasoning behind disagreement with my position but this is not a disputation of the “rule of judges”. Judges can and do allow personal opinions to affect their judgements.
If there actually were a “rule of law” then it wouldn’t matter who the judged a case. There would be no need for more than one appeal. The 2nd appellate judge or judges would necessarily come to the same conclusion as the first.
Whether or not the “rule of judges” should be embraced or limited was not my question.
I asked if anyone could dispute that it exists.
