I don’t currently have a copy of the original, so I listened to the 30th anniversary version (same cover pose, except Arlo’s hair is gray), which includes both the Chip Carter story and the priceless comment “I only made one movie…because I saw it”. Then I coincidentally turned on the radio just as WXRT was playing the original. A couple Thanksgivings ago I was in New York and tried to make a pilgrimage to the building on Whitehall Street, but it seems not to exist anymore. ---

I never heard of it until the early eighties, but it’s an old favorite of mine. It is not, however, a Thanksgiving tradition. ---
