Okay, it was even the passage right after today’s Scripture lesson…if I’d read along at church, I would have read it then. Not much of a mention at all, and not a lot of character development there, but further research reveals what **Kyla** says…Amalek is the catch-all for the historic enemies of the Jews.

No sweat, **Sam Hell** ,I sometimes drop in on threads as just a ordinary poster with something to contribute.
And, yes, while the biblical reference to Amalek is as noted above, the rabbinic interpretation translates that all enemies who try to destroy the Jews are descendents of Amalek – from Haman to Hitler.

Yes, Haman! I kept thinking it was Hanuman, which would have been very, very odd.
