Yes, a porn movie will have individuals who are the primary focus, but they’ll also usually have folks in the background, too, just like any other movie. I can see saying that someone who was the focus of a movie is a porn star, but what about someone whose entire porn career was just as “fluffer #3”, or whatever?

A friend of my parents was in a porn film, a “non-participatory part” as she put it – she (her character, that is) sold her daughter into white slavery.

How is this an argument for lowering the legal age? Because fifteen year olds are attractive to men, or because one fifteen year old girl was savvy enough to be able to handle having sex at that age?

How do we really even know that she “handled it?” She’d been sexually abused from the age of 10, and was put into the industry by an abusive stepfather. Her behavior at 15 was not an indicator of exceptional cognitive or emotional maturity, or calculating sophistication, but a result of abuse.

I’ve heard the term “porn actress” used on women who’ve done porn but weren’t “stars”. I say if you know them by name they are probably a star, otherwise its just “random blonde with gigantic fake tits”.

Yes, appearing in any pornographic film that is commercially sold makes one a ‘porn star’. Technicalities of “stardom” aside, that’s just the way the colloquialism goes… Note that being a celebrity and having one’s sex tape absconded does not make one a porn star.

Male porn stars always say that it’s not as much fun as it looks like, but I think they’re just saying that because they don’t want competition. I find it hard to believe they get up in the morning and think, “man, I don’t want to go to work and get my dick sucked by two chicks at once today. I think I’ll call in sick.”

If you have been to the gym enough to have a super body, and you were blessed with the genetics needed to be well endowed, there’s still the issues of being able to perform on demand, but not getting too excited to blow your load before the camera has gotten enough footage. Surprisingly, even porn is hard work.

Lived in West Hollywood, CA for several years, and met lots of guys who had been in Gay porn films - every one claimed to be a “Porn Star”.

Of course, no one wanted to claim they had a bit part.

I skimmed Ms. Lords’ autobiography, and that’s not how she tells it. He pretended to be her stepfather to get her the necessary fake ID to pose nude, but she was actually “dating” him at the time.

And her entry into full-on porn was more of an accident after she took a job as a (non-participating) background extra on a porn film: “You want me to fuck me this hot guy on camera? OK!”

While that doesn’t excuse her abusive past, she started doing porn on a whim. Nothing more, nothing less.
