# Is anybody in charge of keeping satellites from colliding?

Admittedly, I did start [a thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=499154) by this same title, about this same article a while back. But this is on a different topic, so I thought it best to make a new one.

I love the video presentation demonstrating how the satellites collided. (Synopsis… they tried to occupy the same space while in motion.)
