The only time I’ve ever been to Golden Corral was when I was in college, and I went there with some friends because it was cheap and just a block or two from my place. It was (and probably still is) the kind of place that served that nasty canned three-bean salad. Who eats that crap, anyway? I can assure you that NOTHING on the line was prepared from scratch on any level; it was carried in on a truck in a can or bag. ---

I saw a 10-12 year old kid fully coating some foodstuff including getting some on his fingers. I wanted to vomit. I like to think I’m a not snob; but between similar experiences between the Golden Corral incident above, and some at a buffet trough restaurant here in the Atlanta area called Sweet Tomatoes I’ve decided I have too much respect for myself to eat at places like that ever again. I don’t get grossed out easy, and I’m not a germophobe; but I have no desire to go where people seem to lose all sense of manners or forget how to control their children. For the price it costs to eat at those places there are a TON of other options. Blecchhhh! ---

The chocolate fountain is not all that grosses me out about Golden Corral. The last time I was there a woman ahead of me in the salad bar line tasted all of the dressings by licking the little ladle in the containers. I have never been back there… ---
