I’m pretty sure it’s not my phone as I can access other websites just fine. When I try to access this site, the Straight Dope logo appears but that’s about it. This is happening about 40% of the time. ---

Have you tried another browser? Opera or Opera Mini work quite well with this site on Android. ---

Yes. Or, it loads, then it promptly crashes my phone browser. I gave up trying to access SDMB on my phone a long time ago. I don’t know if downloading tapatalk would help because I haven’t bothered doing that yet. ---

I’ve been having just one issue with Tapatalk, lately, and apparently affecting only this messageboard–the “Participated” menu option just hangs. But I can browse through the forums via the “Main” menu just fine. ---

I access the board almost exclusively using an android phone and Tapatalk. I also experience the “hangs about 40% of the time” issue. It happens in spates usually. Doesn’t really bother me as I mostly just pop in and out anyway. ---

I use Chrome on my Android phone and the site loads fine.
