I’ve seen a few vehicles driving with a front license plate that has a white background, and red letters saying “BEEF.” Tampa Bay area, not Omaha or anything. I haven’t gotten close enough to see if there’s anything else written on the plate. What’s this all about? I just imagine license plates saying POULTRY, LETTUCE, POTATO, CORN, etc and it doesn’t make any sense either. So why BEEF? Whenever I see the plate, I think the owner is some sort of tobacco-chewing macho man. Anyone see these plates? Know someone who has one? Opinions? ---

Anyone invested in it would point of the differences between a wild impala out on the veldt versus factory farming. Or, hell, even free range farming since the lion is culling the herd and the strongest impala survive versus every cow being earmarked for consumption. Or, if you’re just against meat period, you’d point out the flexibility in our dietary needs versus that of the lion and our ability to make complex decisions about what we eat. Also, we get to drive Impalas which no lion can do. ---

Any chance that what you saw was “EB FE” instead of “BEEF”? I’ve heard of developers (specifically exploit developers) sporting plates or bumper stickers with EB FE on them as an in joke. “EB FE” is an assembly language jump instruction that will cause an infinite loop. ---

Okay I’ll take your word for it. I originally thought the BEEF plate was just a display of hypermasculinity.
