Please give me the Straight Dope. I have heard from more than one person that President Biden has been secretly flying in entire planes full of undocumented, unvaccinated persons and dropping them off under cover of night for…some reason, not really clear. This sounds to me like a crazy conspiracy theory, but on the other hand we live in crazy times. It seems to me if there was any evidence at all, he would be out on his ass in a heartbeat. On the other hand…well, i dont even know what the other hand is. So, tell me the truth, I can take it. Is Biden secretly flooding the US with illegal immigrants? P.S. Not trolling or joking. This is a sincere question. Please tell me what the hell is going on. If its not what the right THINKS is going on, what is it really? ---

You had three choices: 1. Not waste your time even considering such a a stupid rumor. 2. Ask the people making the claim to show you the evidence. 3. Start a thread and perpetuate the stupid rumor. Way to go. ---

Despite the appearances (aviator glasses and such) I seriously doubt that President Biden has a valid pilot license. Even if he had, the Secret Service would not allow him to fly at night under the radar. And the foreigners would have to be vetted and carefully selected, so they would not be undocumented. I believe people who come close to the President have to be vaccinated. You don’t have to fly in illegal immigrants: they come all on their own. ---

I’ve certainly heard it. I do look in on an RWNJ message board from time to time, and this so-called “fact” is all over the place there. That board is a little looser on cite requirements than we have here on the SDMB; so generally, the posters there believe that a cite such as “My brother’s wife’s best friend, who works at SAN, knows a baggage handler who knows a gate attendant, who saw a bunch of illegal, unvaccinated Mexicans escorted onto a plane bound for Des Moines” is perfectly valid. ---

OP, the people you’re hearing this from are either lying or misinformed. The news sources either they or you have are terrible. You should consider listening to better people and having better news sources. I suggest giving up on all the news sources you have and getting a subscription to the NY Times or the Washington Post. Also, maybe spend time listening to NPR. Is the administration maybe flying undocumented immigrants away from the border to put them up someplace less crowded? Could be. I don’t really follow what’s happening at the southern border. Are they secretly flying entire planes full under cover of night for some nefarious reason? No, that’s utter bullshit. ---

My general rules are: 1- If it’s on Facebook and the poster is a MAGA type, then it’s probably false 2- If it hasn’t been covered in MSM, then it didn’t happen 3- If it would be really outrageous if it happened, then it didn’t happen This story ticks all 3 boxes for me as I’ve seen it in Facebook posts many times. ---
