I think we might be overlooking something. Based on the OP’s user name, we should see if we can rule out whether or not these undocumented immigrants are humans. Maybe it’s an effort to save endangered turtle populations in the US? ---

Thank you for all the responses. Some useful, some less so bordering on attacking me (thanks for the early moderation). To be clear, I dont believe this is true, never beleived it to be true, I am not a Trumper and in fact voted for Clinton in 2016 and Biden in 2020. To those who suggest I hang around a better class of people or get my news from better sources…first I have never heard this from what I would consider to be a legitimate news source. Second, the people I hear repeating/spreading this rumor are die hard Trumpers who are my customers where i work ( one of which is literally my BIGGEST customer) so simply telling him he’s full of shit is a non starter. I suspected, as some have pointed out, that there was a kernel of truth that got blown out of proportion, so special thanks to those of you who cited those sources. Just for the record, I am not an idiot. I am seeking to fight ignorance and be more informed, not interested in spreading unsubstantiated rumors or stirring up trouble. I now see my OP reads as if I was seriously giving some weight to this CT…believe me nothing could be further from the truth. ---
