I saw him live once, for free. He was alright, if predictable, but the thing that really grated on my nerves was that he seemed to think the best way to make up for having only sort-of-funny jokes was to SCREAM THE PUNCH LINE AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS. ---

What I can’t understand is why he thinks his jokes are so cutting edge and shocking. He’s about 3 decades too late. ---

I thought this question was going to be “Is Carlos Mencia, as a person in his entirety, worth $63?” As in some captors held him by rope over a pit of lava and says “WE DEMAND $63 OR CARLOS MENCIA DIES!” and we as a society had to decide if it was worthwhile or not. A much more interesting question, IMO. ---

Boycott. He doesn’t even have the comedic sense to steal _funny_ jokes. The only living comedian I’d pay $63 to see is Chris Rock. ---

There is an easy way to answer questions like this. Simply put, what are you going to do with that $63.00 if you don’t see him? If you’re gonna go to two movies that you can wait six month and check out for free at the public library then yes he’s worth it. If you’re gonna use that $63.00 to go to the cost of getting a tooth filled then no he’s not ---

Yeah, I can’t think of a lot of living comedians I’d pay $63 for. Unless you’re asking if it’s worth it for two tickets? I paid with Ticketmaster charges etc. etc. about $50 to see Denis Leary and some other comics, and that was towards the high end of what I’d ever part with. ---

Stand-up comedy is one of the lowest forms of entertainment out there. Most stand-up comics suck. The very form of stand-up comedy these days is essentially about being as mean as you possibly can. Very few are insightful like Chris Rock, Eddie Izzard or Russell Brand. I’d pay $ 63 to see Russell Brand open for Eddie Izzard. Past that I can’t think of anything I’d pay that much for. I wouldn’t pay that for either individually. ---

I paid $30 to see Lewis Black and John Oliver last week and they are both about 60 bajillion times funnier than Carlos Mencia. I vote that he is not worth $63. ---
