# Is "chink in the armor" an offensive racist term?

Great sports commentary which would not fly today:

In one of Ring Lardner’s baseball stories, he refers to a low-scoring pitchers’ duel by saying “Runs were as scarce as Chinese policemen”. :D:eek:
