It’s not about aid. Egypt doesn’t care about US aid.

Mc Cain etc were all sent to get Morsi and Al Shater etc released from prison. Al Shater threatened about the black box so I expect the US after knowing that the MB have had complete access to the files of the country are nervous about what will be revealed.

He’s on record as saying he doesn’t want to suspend aid, but feels we must in order to be compliant with the law.

> And supporting Morsi isn’t blanket support of “the Muslim Brotherhood”. It’s support of the democratically elected president of Egypt.

The tricky past is that the aid is part of Camp David Treaty. US stops the aid then the Egyptians can cancel treaty since US broke terms of the treaty by stopping the aid. US will not stop the aid. Their hands are tied.

correct!

That is why Egyptians don’t care or even mention the US aid. Stop it if you like. We don’t care.

You will also notice that Bandar quickly left DC and relations between Saudi and US are at all time low. Saudi now massively supports Egypt. Russia and China India etc can easily fill any US gap.

It’s almost as if the USA is dropping Israel. They realise that they can’t have Israel and the rest of the world as friends.

What I believe Marmite Lover has been saying that Morsi was trying to consolidate his power through links to a terrorist organization and that made his government illegitimate and if it were duly elected it was elected based on fraud. The people rose against him and he had no way to cling to power and specifically was not legitimate because western democracies’ leaders said he was.
>
> Enough Egyptians voted with their feet to oust the SOB Islamist terrorist sympathizer and there was no need to label it a coup of a duly elected government because Morsi was not duly governing as he should have under the conditions that surrounded him.

Maybe you can tell Morsi he resigned because he is screaming he is the president of Egypt till this day 😃

In fact Morsi is not the problem. Morsi never ruled as president. He is known in Egypt as the spare tyre anyway.
During Morsi’s rule it was not Morsi running the country. It was the murshid.

That was why it is impossible to negotiate with the MB.

>
> I’m talking about real power. Morsi never had it. He never had real power because he screwed up the chance that was given him.

Okay I need to explain something here

Coup is just a word.

Tamarod ousted Morsi. They asked the army to arrest him. They did. The army could never have ousted a president the people loved so call it whatever you like. We call it the will of the people. Same as Mubarak, will of the people.

IF Mubarak has not been ousted on 25th January 2011 it would have happened the day they revealed the results of the next election and Gamal was made president.

The army did not run Egypt if you think they did. Mubarak and the felool did. Mubarak controlled everything. That’s why he never even appointed a vice president. His men had to be loyal to him not anyone else not army. Mubarak knew the army hated Gamal because they could see the catastrophe ahead. The army’s job is to keep the country stable which it is doing as best it can against all the odds. The US aid you all speak of.
You know where most goes?
It goes to building factories to make household goods etc to provide jobs by the army for citizens. It goes to build petrol stations for fuel and a million other projects that give Egyptian jobs. While the army looked after the people, and built bakeries to feed them and give them cheap bread for the poor. Mubarak and his sons built leisure resorts and shopping malls for the rich. Huge real estate ventures that lie empty. Millions of real estate all lying empty. While the poor live in slums.

This is one of the reasons the people love their army.

Mubarak had no clue the last 5 years what was going on. Mubarak was the president. Gamal and Ahmed Ezz etc were running the country. Egyptians knew that and they were never going to accept Gamal as next president. Not ever! If it didn’t happen 25th then it would be on election result day.

[QUOE]In a bombshell, retired General Hugh Shelton, the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said his country has concocted a conspiracy to destabilize Egypt.

He said President Obama administration is working to destabilize regimes in both Egypt and Bahrain.

**Shelton said General Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Minister of Defense discovered the US conspiracy and aborted it before Egypt turns into another Syria and put an end to the so called new Middle East project.**

The former US official said the June 30 Revolution has stymied the conspiracy and kept Egypt and its army from destruction.

The US World Tribune reported that the United States planned to destabilize regime in at least two Arab countries during the past two years.

The paper quoted Shelton, who served in both the administrations of former US Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush as saying that Egypt has managed to abort the Obama campaign for destabilizing Egypt in the year 2013 adding General Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the First Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense and Military Production who was the former chief of the Miliary intelligence has managed to uncover the US plot to support the Moslem Brotherhood who came to power midst unprecedented disorders, a thing which led to the ouster of president Mohamed Morsy on June 3.

He said if Morsy was not ousted through the assistance of the army, Egypt would have turned into another Syria and the Egyptian army would have been destroyed in full, indicating that the June 30 Revolution stymied this plot and kept Egypt and its army from destruction.

Shelton, who did not uncover the source of the information he gave, said Arab allies kept away from Washington and set up an alliance between Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates against Moslem Brotherhood. He expressed the belief that Egypt is about to become calm.

Meantime, Shelton said the US intelligence services spearheaded a campaign against Bahrain, which was exhausted by Shiite revolutions adding the United States believed that Bahrain would be easy to swallow, thus setting up a springboard towards destroying the Gulf Cooperation Council regime and allow giant oil companies to control the oil in the gulf.

Shelton said the Bahraini Monarch Hamad Bin Isa managed in 29011 to abort the plot adding the Bahraini monarch agreed on the GCC decision which was sponsored by Saudi Arabia to dispatch thousands of soldiers to Bahrain to help stamp out the Iran supported Shiite rebellion.

Shelton, who met the Bahraini Monarch during his assignment in the fifth U.S Fleet in Manama, said the conspiracy has damaged the US administration policy with Bahrain and Saudi Arabia adding this has eroded the confidence given by Riyadh to Washington after discovering US support for Shiites in Bahrain.

Mohammed Morsi is an evil son of a bitch who wants to set up a theocratic state that oppresses religious minorities and bring Islamic terror to the region. \*\* He also was the democratically elected ruler elected by the Egyptian people.\*\* And they turned against him, and the military overthrow was pretty popular.

Even if it turns out that the guy who was elected is an evil theocratic terrorist son of a bitch, the law says that if the military overthrows him, the government loses aid until it has free elections. Even if we like the military government and hate the democratic government. It’s a remarkably stupid law. Its an insanely stupid law that’s detrimental to US foreign policy. But that’s the law, even though it’s a bad one.

why do people keep saying this?

few Egyptians believed for one second it was a fair election

it was the same as happened under Mubarak

the election was rigged

even Carter said he would never monitor another the rigging was so blatant so! why is this constantly being repeated that he was democratically elected?

The election and voting process was witnessed by US the Egyptians!!! We saw the violations! it was exactly like what happened under Mubarak.

You have not explained where I have argued that the election itself was not valid. Had Morsi not acted upon his lies and promises and aligned himself with the miderates and revolutionaries then he may have been able to serve out his first term. Had he done that his lies would not have invalidated the election.

So lets get that straight and I am interested in Marmite Lover’s new lead that Morsi was not running the country anyway the whole time.
