# Is corporate receptionist the most boring job in the world?

Once in my previous job I had to unbox a dozen of those all-in-one printer scanners. Pulling off all the orange packing tape that kept things from moving around in transit.

I remember feeling sorry for the poor schlub somewhere whose job it was to put tape on printers.

The taping wasn’t uniform enough from one printer to the next for it to have been an automated procedure.

Early morning shift at a steel mill in the 70’s, just moving metal from one machine to another… we were so bored, we’d wrangle the sheets of steel bare-handed. They were hot and sharp-edged, so that hurt… but that was the only thing keeping us awake.

My Tab A and I mostly enjoy our insertions into Slot B though a lot depends on who the Slot B belongs to.
