Usually in the real world, folks who are as mindlessly pusillanimous as **doorhinge** appears to be on this board are widely avoided by sane people. If he were to evince the same interpersonal relations as he attempts to do here (in his own amazingly inept manner) in my corner pub, he would be warned once and then if he continued his wearisome blather longer, kinetic energy would be applied to him in the form of a cue-stick. I find some of our more cantankerous members to be interesting, but this poster is not in that category. He appears to be a failed bully who has decided to use this venue to vent his dissatisfaction in how life has turned out for him. Why this behavior doesn’t rise to the level of “don’t be a jerk” is problematic to me. ---

Haters gotta hate. That’s what they do. Wolf333 was nice enough to provide a place for haters to vent their hate and impotence. It’s a learning experience. Don’t ask questions that the haters do not what to hear. It makes the haters whiney. Don’t support investigations into possible government corruption or stupidity. It makes the haters bitter. Life goes on. On the plus side, it helps keep other threads clean and easier to read. 😃 ---

And I don’t think there’s anything wrong or annoying about another poster answering a question that is relatively common knowledge (i.e., not requiring you to get in the original poster’s head.) It’s okay. We all have these odd gaps in our knowledge. Nothing to be ashamed of, ---

Total agreement. It’s helpful. Lots of times, I’ll see threads like this… A: It depends on the Twin Paradox. B: What’s that? C: It’s a very conventional thought-experiment in Relativity, and here’s a Wikipedia reference… It saves time; the thread doesn’t have to wait for A to come back and post. (Also…many times, the explanation by C is better than what A would have written!) ---

It appears that there are still ineffective debaters on the internet who chose to act as bullies. Ineffective bullies, at best. When it becomes apparent to them that they can not effectively advocate for their position, they chose to resort to threats and taunts. It’s sad really. My question is, why do they believe those tactics will be effective. Do they believe that their intended target’s feelings will be hurt and their target will then be forced to fall in line with groupthink? Doesn’t that imply that they believe that their intended target actually cares what a bully thinks? Nothing could be farther from the truth. It’s easy enough to take a position and defend it. If they can’t, well, that’s their problem isn’t it. Sticks and stones are a real threat. Words will only amuse me.
