Is Dr. Steven Gundry a quack?

Every so often I’m tempted to sign up for Facebook, and then I’m reminded why I don’t. What is it with Facebook and ads for quacks, anyway? Is it just that the user base skews older?

You can sign up and just only view it in a browser with an ad blocker (even on your phone). That’s what I do and I’ve never heard of this duck-sounding gentleman.

Major online news sites like CNN and ABC frequently display clickbait ads for quacks and their products, at least for those not religiously using adblockers. Twitter is a notorious source as well.

Remember, when eating blueberries kills you, don’t come running to me.

damage as in " they shred your stomach lining and other things "

Given your username, that’s what I’d expect your take to be on this fine medical practitioner

…just kidding. The guy is a con artist. But I do appreciate the username/thread combo

plus, his remedy olio de serpiente is REALLY showing great success - and many studies will prove this!

(for him)

Wait, Gundry’s against blueberries? I thought he cited them as a good food. That was one of the few things he said that made me wonder if he was a quack–blueberries are fairly cheap, they taste good, and I eat a lot of them (anti-oxidents), so I thought maybe he’s on to something. Did he come out saying they’re harmful?

On his list of “Yes” foods, it only says:

So, at least from that overall list, it certainly doesn’t sound like he’s endorsing “eat a lot of them,” and he’s not calling out blueberries as specifically “good.”

Mustn’t eat blueberries.

Baaa-ad blueberries!

Note that there is such a thing as fructose intolerance in a limited number of people. But Gundry generalizes his AVOID AVOID to everybody.

More blueberries for me
