Because that’s where propagandists of the past were wrong. They knew nothing, and I mean nothing unites and energizes a political base like a common enemy. Someone or someones despicable, monstrous, some evil beast that must be put down. But where they fucked up was making up enemies that existed. Hitler accused the Jews, McCarthy has the Communists, Nixon had the dope fiends and the long hairs, Bush had Al Qaeda & terrorists… The problem there is that, when you’ve actually dealt with your great bugaboo and shit is \*still \*fucked up, people start wondering if maybe you didn’t make the whole thing up about there being an enemy in the first place who was responsible for everything. Which is why the Deep State is brilliant. Nobody knows what it is or means. Nobody identifies with it, because it’s not a thing that really exists. Which means this nebulous conspiracy can fit with or encompass any and everything, can never be defeated (unlike Sharia Law terrorists, who’ve been terribly quiet as of late and don’t seem like such an imminent existential threat any more, booo !). It can even be retroactively applied - the Deep State did Benghazi (because HRC is the Deep State, somehow), fuck at this point it probably did 9/11 too. And because it is limitless and extraordinarily sneaky, you can demand limitless extraordinary measures to fight against it. You can even support a known philanderer when you’re a Christian values guy, a crony capitalist and crook when you’re a down on your luck coal miner living on disability pensions, a buffoonish draft dodger when you’re a military buff and a crooked, amoral piece of shit when you actually respect the country, its history and its laws. All in service of the greater cause of fighting the Deep State. He’s the demon you know fighting the devil you can’t. It’s perfect. ---

Fox Snooze is really only tangentially related to Fox entertainment. I mean, beside the fact that it is not entertaining. This thread is about how bad Fox Snooze is, and that other Fox thingy is not exactly relevant. I mean, they have had Groening and McFarlane for quite a few years, with no parallel at all on Fox Snooze. Not even close. ---
