Huh? AHED got it right here: “The United Kingdom is composed of” and “the United Kingdom comprises” are equally correct, and have the same meaning, at least where I’m from. I’m with the dictionary on this one. ok so you all think I’m am an idiot and I probably spoke out of turn , but I have had the unfortunate pleasure to have met some very ignorant and unpleasant Americans on my travels (I have also met ignorant and unpleasant Scots English and French etc) I work in the oil industry which could explain it …or not .I’m sure I will be corrected no matter what I write … I apologies for taking a pop at Americans and generalising you all together… … I asked a genuine question ( possibly in the wrong way) …George Bush comes across as not the cleverest or most articulate man in the world and I wondered how the general American public felt about being governed by him , I am assuming he is just a figure head and his backroom staff actually run the country …or am I mistaken again. Once again I will apologise for spelling and punctuation etc because no doubt it is wrong… ---

No. The issue is that you wrapped yourself up in some self righteous idiocy and smeared 270 million people. As to the crosses you bear, big fucking deal. Grab a spell checker and learn how to write. My cousins all seem to be able to do that with great success, so it’s not a general failing of the Scottish educational system. Hey look! We actually have a secret Council of Elders (formerly known as the Bilderbergers) who run things from their ultra-top-secret headquarters atop Mount Washington (that’s in New Hampshire). But don’t tell anybody. Bush has been a bad president because of his policies and lack of initiative in key areas, not because he is not “the cleverest or most articulate man in the world”. There _are_ quite a few venom-spitting critics in the U.S. who still harp on his stupidity and consistently underestimate him as a result. ---
