Yes, there are still windmills used in water management. there are at least 2 I know of around Noordwijk alone, used to manage the water table. While it’s not generating new land, it’s definitely pumping the polders dry… ---

Dutch Parliament has asked the Dutch Govenment (Mrch 22) to put making new land on the political agenda once more. The Liberal party, and a majority of Parliament is in favour of creating new land in the North Sea, adjacent to the coast of Holland, between Scheveningen and Hoek van Holland. The LPF-party wants new calculations to be made to see if poldering the Markerwaard can be economically sound, after all. They say land in the Markerwaard ought to be 10 times cheaper then in the North Sea. ---
