# Is Hyundai Copying BMW, Mercedes-Benz?

In a similar vein, the early 2000’s Elantra GT is very derivative of the Saab 9-3. They are easy to confuse when viewed from the back.

There was a big lawsuit between Chrysler (Jeep) and GM (Hummer, nee AM General) over the Hummer grille design’s resemblance to the traditional slotted Jeep grille. Jeep tends to be very protective of its brand. The lawsuit was dismissed due to the past corporate history involving AMC and Jeep
