Well, my opinion also depends on what country I’m in and which police body we’re talking about. Spanish, upper-middle-class, white or not and Hispanic or not depending on who you ask (I self identify as both).
Spanish Guardia Civiles? Not exactly my friends, but most of them are helpful guys. In an accident they’re as likely to be assisting with CPR as directing traffic.
Spanish Nacionales? Unless I need to see one about getting ID renewed, not my friends. When renewing ID or checking ID at a port of entry, booooooredom is their middle name.
American Feds? Make Nacionales look polite, nice and helpful. I’d truly appreciate it if they could take their 'tude and shove it, but then, this also applies to many other US public officers who aren’t cops.
