# Is it bad that I can move my eyes independently?

I don’t mean [shimmy](http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a1_264.html) like on the main page today, I mean move. Like one eye stays still while the other one spins in circles, or the like. I don’t do it for extended periods and, now that I think about it, I don’t do it all that frequently either. I’m just wondering if there’s anything bad about it (besides what it does to my contacts…)

Nah, it just means that back in the day, one of your ancestors had sex with a chamelon and you’re the one who finally got the mutated gene for your eyes.
