Winter is the best time for camping. No bugs, lots of good hunting and fishing(because you aren’t going to run into another human for miles and miles if you plan it right), and wonderful scenery. You see, while you suckers are all huddled up in your damn houses, people like me are taking advantage of all the extra space there is! ---

I’m not at all sorry that I don’t have to deal with prairie winters anymore. I am happy to see snow here, because it makes the kids happy, but I’m equally happy to see the end of it. One thing, though. In Maryland, it’s damp. It’s humid year-round. When it’s humid and 45F, I get chilled like I never did at -20c and dry in Alberta and NWT. ---

It may not seem like that to me because when I lived in Oklahoma it was always humid and it was always windy. It has always seemed less cold in Denver in the winter, even when the temps are significantly lower, and I figure that was the humidity. ---

Yeah, I just said it a few posts ago. It bears repeating. ---
