In his history/journalistic tour of North Korea, Under the Loving Care of the Heavenly Father, Bradley Martin noted the height/weight difference between the South Koreans (who’ve been getting taller and heavier with each recent generation) and their extremely lean and occasionally starving cousins to the north. He noted that to save face, the Kim regime has picked not just their best, but their biggest soldiers for the high-profile border postings (those guys parading in sight of our guys on the border), but that they dwarf the more typical scrawny, growth-stunted soldiers stationed everywhere else. And military personnel get some of their country’s most generous food rations…
I think the above is supposed to read “Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader.”
Quite right. That Kim party-line B.S. just rolls right off my back like water off a duck…
It is a known fact that 90% of all asians are Lactose intolerant. The growth spurts can probably be explaing by just that, calcium. Here in america, we have calcium substitutes in almost every processed food we eat.
Furthermore, I am filipino and very lactose intolerant. I am 5’ 3" and 160 lbs. My height has barely changed but my weight is through the roof, since I have been forcing milk and milk products into my diet.
I am not overweight, btw. Or at least I don’t look overweight.
I am short, but my birthmother was only 4’ 11", I have no data on my birthfather. Many ‘coconuts’ think I am Japanese!
