Gee. **hauss** reminds me of **homercles**. Especially after re-visiting this thread: [http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=203307](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=203307) Strange assertions about science and the poster’s special insight into it, along with assertions that the more bizarre posts were the responsibility of the poster’s brother. However, I do note that both **hauss** and **homercles** co-existed at the same time and were actively posting here during the same part of 2003. Sort of argues against one tentative hypothesis I was considering, though it doesn’t absolutely rule it out. See, that’s how science is done! Create a hypothesis. Gather data. Examine and compare the existing facts and see whether or not they support the hypothesis! 😃 ---

Does it ever seem to anyone else that some folks just don’t “get” science at all? **hauss** really honestly seems to believe that his voodoo approach to health is valid and meaningful - I think he simply doesn’t understand ideas like evidence and how one comes to valid conclusions. Is there any hope to explain science to such people? ---
