# Is it me, or does Ask Jeeves suck now?

(ask.**[co.uk](http://co.uk)** for me, that is)

Dead or irrelevant links, worse still, you search for ‘computer components’ and it sends you to an address called [computercomponents123.com](http://computercomponents123.com) that isn’t developed, but somebody would like to sell you the URL grrrrr.

Now of course, I love Google, but there used to be certain things (looking for online shops/services etc) for which Jeeves was (gasp)better than Google.

What do you mean _now_? Was there ever a time when Jeeves didn’t suck?

I’ve never gotten a useful link from Jeeves. Usually the answers had absolutely no relevance to the search terms.

Oh no, [at least the UK version of] Jeeves was a useful search engine about six months ago (admittedly I wasn’t comparing it with Google then) - I only ever use it when I’m looking for a _service_(hotel booking, price comparison etc) rather than simple information.

Now I’m getting loads of hits that turn out to be empty URLs

The only thing I’ve ever used Jeeves for was right after the tv ads were on I’d log on and type things like “I’d like to have sex with a really great furry animal,” etc.

I used to use infoseek exclusively until they got bought out and started massively sucking. Thank god google is still there, though.
