Sir: Please quote me where I said I’ve never seen a worse movie.

When my statement was questioned by Mr. **RickJay** , I repeated it for utmost clarity, but allow me to repeat it now a third time:

Dances With Wolves was one of the worst movies ever made.

To answer your question directly, I’ve seen plenty of movies worse. But this isn’t a thread about bad movies. It’s a thread about one particular bad movie.

And particularly bad it is.

There are no noble savages in this story, and, at least among the characters we get to know, no ignoble savages either. Just complex, ordinary people trying to make sense of a very complicated period of history. Nobody’s culture ends up smelling like a rose by the end of this movie. And oh yeah, the landscape shots aren’t half-bad either. \*\*

Glad you reminded me of Black Robe. I though it did a very good job conveying the clash of cultures. I’ll have to check for a DVD.

Oh and **RogueRacer** …

It’s hard to leave a theater when you’re sound asleep. **RogueRacer**

The local Native Americans here call it “Laurence of Dakota” derisively.
That being said; “Wolves” gets one point for cinematography, and one point for the scene of the Crow sneak attack.

flodnak, you got it right about the “Black Robe,” which was made by the Ojibwahs.

Does the “Last of the Mohicans” get more cred than “Dances”?
