It’s necessary unless I want to be single again.
I go to the laundromat twice a year. It is my job to launder my gf’s horse blankets and pads. They’re her horses, so she should do it, but she’s weirded out by the idea of going to the laundromat. She makes me something special for dinner that night as a thank you.
I don’t sort by color but by type.
Underwear and socks
Sheets
Bath towels
Kitchen towels
Dog blankets
Clothing
Everything is washed in warm wash/cold rinse except underwear and kitchen towels which are washed in hot/cold rinse.
I’ve been going to laundromats since I was a kid growing up.
My gf went once, with me, many years ago. It was just another day at the laundromat, but she was apparently traumatized, so it’s been my job ever since.
^^Wow!!
Yeah, things can get creepy at laundromats. I had a guy try to open a conversation with me by asking, “Are you the type of girl who likes to play games?”
Uh, menacing. Yeah. Never saw him before or since, thank my lack of god.
Yes, laundromats can be creepy for women as @Two_Many_Cats2 pointed out. But they can also be very handy. When in college, I would go to the laundromat on a Sunday morning, put the wash in, then treat myself to breakfast at Al’s Diner right next door in Dinkytown. Back to the laundromat to put stuff in the dryer and settle down and study until dryer was done. It was here that I learned to pay attention to folding clothes right out of the dryer to eliminate/minimize the need for ironing. As I love linen and cotton, this is excellent knowledge.
Oh yeah, I actually like laundromats on the whole. You can sit and read, with the machines making a nice humming sound in the background. White noise, I think it’s called. They also usually have snack machines, or you can go out for a bite while waiting. It’s soothing.
Why is this? Why do new red things seem to run, or bleed, more than other new colors?
Perhaps they don’t. It might just be more noticeable when the undershirts turn a light pink as opposed to a light blue/gray.
