Is it only Americans that like peanut butter?

I’m going to hijack this for a hot second to share w/ you one of the many delightful things that helped me gain an extra 20 pounds I didn’t need;
Fill a biggish soup bowl halfway w/ smooth peanut butter, cover to top of dish w/ chocolate chips (carob won’t melt right) and then toss it in the nukerwave. Use a Nilla wafer or those lovely layered vanilla/strawberry/chocolate cookies to scoop it up while it’s still hot. When it cools, toss it in the freezer and chip the rest out as needed while plopped in front of telly. Don’t share!
WARNING! - The cats will be all over you for this stuff.

To add to the thread as written, I can tell you all the Germans I’ve met here in the states prefer Nutella, which I believe is hazelnut rather than peanut. shrug

Several years ago, while backpacking around New Zealand, I was shocked to discover that a young English woman staying at the same hostel as me had never tasted a peanut butter and jam sandwich. She had peanut butter, jam, and bread with her; it just hadn’t occured to her to combine them. An American and I insisted that she make and eat one right then and there. She informed us that she could go the rest of her life without eating one ever again. I blame the blackberry jam she used.

Later that evening, I mentioned Jell-o and was greeted with puzzled looks. I said it was a gelatin dessert with Kool-Aid type flavoring. Blank stares :smack: .
