## For the past few years, I’ve been thinking about just getting away from my current life and starting a new one where I can mold myself into the person that I want to be. Part of this dream involves “dropping out” of society. This topic hits a nerve in me. Maybe I’ll share this another time. It is kind of disturbing and involves depression that I have. Back on topic… I don’t think it would be a good idea to drop out of society completely for an extended period of time because you will likely go insane from isolation. Those little voices in your head will drive you nuts. You will eventually be talking to the cockroaches that run around your house. What about sex? ---

There’s people in America who don’t want to BE dropped out of society, that get dropped out. So yeah, it’s possible. Real possible. ---

[/QUOTE] Not the least of which is that the places to “get away to” aren’t reachable by road. IIRC less than 15 percent of the communities are accessible by road. We do get a lot of folks who think they’re going to be anonymous and fade into the final frontier. Then they find out we’ve got America’s Most Wanted and cable TV too. Even the old “White Alice” sites manned by one or two contractors have satellite TV.
