# is it possible to get German television channels via satellite in the US?

I have looked dang near everywhere, and you can get virtually every other language. Even Dutch. But no German.

Does anyone know of a provider?

Until someone comes along with better information, [here](http://german.about.com/library/blsattv2.htm) is what I found with a quick Google search. There are some additional links at the bottom of the page.

Deutsche Welle is the only German language station that I’ve ever seen at random moments on my cable system. It’s not a native German television station but meant to be for German speaking expats I think. But it isn’t available on Dish Network or DirecTV so good luck finding it.

Sadly, I took 4 years of German and I always found it to be nearly completely incomprehensible.
