# Is it really that weird to stop masturbating once you're in a committed relationship?

Thank you, that was exactly my initial reaction.

But as has been mentioned, it is actually more likely to raise an eyebrow to hear that you are still hand cranking (or relying on fthe wonders of technology) every so often while in a committed coupleship. As if there weren’t times that one or the other of the parties is not up to it, or simply not there.

What is the right or wrong way with this, depends on each couple and the nature of both their physical relationship AND their comunication with each other.

I believe there is evidence that some people masturbate even more once they are having regulat sex with a partner.

I think it’s also uncommon for partners to retain the same sex drive throughout their marriage. If you want it five times a week and your wife is happier with once every week or two, you may have to take matters into your own hands. And if you have a low sex drive and your wife doesn’t, she’s probably doing the same thing.
