So, lesson #1 is to post abolut how you’re being ignored. Heh. Posts that will almost always get responses: - Fart threads - Show us pictures of your cat, those get piled onto fast. - While you’re at it, start another Doper Picture thread, it’s been a while and you can start with one of you doing that adorable stretching thing. - Say “fuck Bush”. Stand back and watch the traffic jam. - Admit to having sex with sheep, then use the “Hey, I left my computer signed in, and it was a co-worker” excuse. - Rip on the Mods for something. Make something up if you have to. - Talk about a TV show. Then don’t worry if you get ignored, as others have pointed out - it happens. And welcome! ---

Well so far you have broken a rule. You mentioned a cat without posting a picture of said cat. Some Dopers advocate time in the room with the squid tank for such a crime, but I’m not that mean. At least on a first offense. Welcome! Don’t step on the cats! Would you care for a margarita? Everyone ignores me, too, so don’t feel bad. I asked for good-luck-wishes in the MMP and didn’t even get one response. But maybe I got them anyway, 'cause I won the election! ---

$tretch, keep in mind the fact that not all posts require an answer. I may read your post and think, “Nice thought. I agree.” or “Just another dimwit.” but in neither case do I feel a need to post a reply. Good posts do not necessarily get rewarded. Although they should, IMHO. I have posted many times and not gotten a reply. I am not bitter about this at all. Disappointed at times, yes, but not bitter. True, it is nice to be noticed, and it doesn’t require much effort of other posters. _wads up a damp Kleenex in his hands and sniffs a time or two_ So don’t expect much of other posters as they obviously have better things to do than reply to your posts.
