Is it still worth buying stock in Apple?

Um just looked it up to get the exact … $10.97. But sold off about half when it was more than a twofer - to rebalance … and again when that doubled … rinse repeat some of those times scared into selling some portion off because so many analysts were saying how its growth was unsustainable, when it was 100, 200, 300 … Yes, holding instead of selling is not the same as buying.

No, no one else is going to make that with this stock at this point. (Although I never would have expected this last twelve months rise of 80% either.) I made a good guess for once and it has offset a series of bad ones. Which brings us to

And one has a better chance of that $6 stock going to zero. Which I’ve had happen a few times too. On average you won’t find the one that doubles much more often than you find the one that goes bankrupt.

Will AAPL continue to go up like this? Of course not forever, at some point it will behave like a mature stock. But heck GE’s PE is over $16, and it likely has less growth potential than AAPL still does. If that is a “cool premium” built into AAPL’s stock price then GE must be cooler than I thought. As for the cool premium for its product. Well some buy the products because they like the way they work but I am sure some buy them for the cool factor. I see many of those people lining up in China where the mistake AAPL made was underestimating the demand for their sort of cool there … I don’t see S&P’s 12 month target of $800 as unreasonable. For a stock with a dividend yield of 1.64% (true GE’s dividend yield is higher) and still building up more cash on hand than they can spend.
