Man, that’s great! I am so going to start using that.

Oh. Sorry, I guess it was unclear that I was being facetious in my early-on post. For those who couldn’t tell, I would like to clarify that you do not have to sign anything to accept McDonald’s coffee in the US. I hope I didn’t worry you.
I for one love using this case to prove to my friends that I know more than they do, as evil as it might be to use that poor old lady to gloat.
Come on now… was this neccesary? Sarcasm is one thing, insults are another.
I don’t think capybara was calling the OP a schmuck; I think s/he was waggishly saying anyone who bothers to work instead of just raking in free money from lawsuits is a schmuck.
However, having read all twelve of the OP’s posts, I really wish he would buy a clue and begin respecting the standards and practices of this board.
The record so far: 12 posts, of which 8 are new threads, of which 3 are identical (Why are Americans ruining our language?) and cross-posted to different forums. Of the 6 (different) OPs, two are more or less explicitly tweaking American tails, one is about why the French are so grumpy and one is a dumb question about pygmies not being able to reproduce with other people. That leaves three OPs which are more or less sensible and four straight responses to other threads. By any standards, that is a pretty low signal to noise ratio.
I wouldn’t mind, but mild and well-considered criticisms of the USA often attract a wildly vituperative response here, and somebody running round slagging America off for no good reason doesn’t exactly help the situation.
I believe the coffee/lawsuit question was answered well enough, and this is degenerating into a thread that would be better suited to the Pit. I’ll just close this one and let you take it up there if you want to continue. - Jill
