# Is John Locke's "Second Treatise of Government" just one of the "Two Treatises of Government" or a completely separate treatise/essay.?

Is John Locke’s “Second Treatise of Government” just one of the “Two Treatises of Government” or a completely separate treatise/essay.?

I was confused by the titles “Two Treatises of Government” that are offered in one document online and “The Second Treatise of Government” also available. I am currently reading “Two Treatises of Government” but don’t; see any which begins with Book II Chapter I. (and finishes with Chapter XVI). I see no separation of the copy of the treatise I’m currently reading into Treatise I and II.
