The plan we discussed with the BCBA is to pull out all the stops and do underwear all the time at home including overnight and when we’re out of the house. And it will be messy because I know he doesn’t want to use the toilet to poop and he will probably be reluctant to use public toilets. But we gotta do it. Eventually hopefully he will catch on that the options are poop in underwear, yucky mess, or poop in toilet, easy peasy. No more pullups. Marginal bit of good news: Daycare reports in the app that he used the potty today - even though he was in pullups, so we have to verify that he actually did this, if he did that is a step forward! I’m doing better today. Trying to focus more on the gratitude part, and be grateful we _weren’t_ there, whether by some twist of fate or whatever, we have the privilege of being together another day. My therapist said the universe was protecting me and I wasn’t about to get into it with her but why protect me as opposed to those other ten people? Why did I get spared and not a ten year old boy?
