I would say yes. It’s definitely one of my favorite blues, up there with Stilton and Roquefort. ---

Steve Jenkins, one of this country’s most well-known cheese experts, thinks very, very highly of it. It is also happily used by chefs all over the US. ---

Yep, it turns up on pretty good menus, and I’m a fan. Though Cashel Blue or Roaring 40s rank higher by a bit in my pantheon. BTW, the Maytag family no longer has anything to do with the appliance brand AFAIK – Whirlpool now owns the company. I guess that’s what left Fritz with time on his hands to invent (well, not himself) a cheese.
