# Is my child a British citizen?

You should get him a passport now. Like I said, there’s no apparent problems ahead, but once he’s got it - he’s got it for life, no matter what the rules may change to.

There’s no down side - we don’t have anything like national service so there are no obligations attaching and it will make life a lot easier if he wants to travel and work around Europe.

It also means he can play for England (but not Scotland).
