My mum’s ex boyfriend thought watching horror movies was devil worship. Unfortunately mum is very easily influenced and never, ever disagreed with him. -.- But as long as you’re not in the Scottish Highlands, you’ll probably be fine. Around here grown-ups don’t even dress up!! Wahh, I wanna move awaaay. ---

Actually, few nuns still dress up like “Nuns” any more. They just wear normal clothing. So you can put on a simple, conservative dress and then spend the rest of the evening telling people that you are dressed like a modern nun. Not much candy to be had for that, but then sometimes authenticty sucks. ---

I’d guess that 90% of my fellow Catholics would be amused, not offended, by a nun costume. \*\*How about you dress as a nun, and get your most devout Catholic friend to go as a Wiccan priestess or whatever? \*\* Or… Go as a Priest and have a friend go with you as a boy scout. …of course, I’m pretty sure that one would offend people. ---

I remember thinking that you don’t see that very often anymore. Speaking of which my grandfather bought an old car from a nun in our town at an auction( $300) for my sister. It was her first car and we always called it the nunmobile. A bunch of stuffed animals sewed onto a robe would make a pretty good St. Francis of Assisi costume. ---

As a former good Catholic girl, I am not offended by costumes depicting nuns, priests, altar boys and so forth. But then I wanted to wear my old pediatric nurse uniform with the pastel teddybears and go out tonight as an evil nurse, a la I love kids, they’re crunchy and they taste good with ketchup.
