Is my kitten insane, or just very strange?

I wouldn’t worry about the Cheerios. I had to call my vet because my cat (indoor cat, desperate for roughage) was eating corn husks.

When I was a young girl I had a cat that I would hold in my arms like a baby, and from that position the cat would suck and knead the nightgown - it must have really looked like I was nursing the cat. It seemed cute until I was actually being stalked by the cat like the OP, and in the process my nightgown would get wet and gross, so I would take it off and change. Then we realized that if I left the nightie on the bed, the cat was content with sucking and kneading the clothing and would leave me alone. So maybe you can do something like that deliberately and get the cat to transfer allegiance from a person to their clothing.
