First of all, not all cops support Trump. Many cops just wouldn’t do it. Second, there are no shortage of armed civilians in this country who’d love an excuse to kill cops. The cops wouldn’t stands a chance.
The civilians would be massacred, real life doesn’t work like the gun nut’s fantasies.
This conversation is rapidly approaching the escape velocity for real life. None of this is going to happen. But let’s say it did. What magical force makes guns fired by policemen so much more effective than guns fired by civilians? I’ll concede that policemen may, on average, be slightly better marksmen than civilians, but that isn’t going to help them when they’re outnumbered ten to one.

I know better than to fight against the paranoid fantasies of some on the board but here goes.
Trump said that this would be his last campaign, no matter what. Of all the things he said this is the only thing I believe to be true. He’s old he’s tired. He couldn’t stand being seen as a loser so he had to run again, but now that he won, he has no interest in being president longer than he has to. I also think some of you have never met anyone who voted for Trump. They still believe in America. They are still counting on elections in four years. They don’t want a dictatorship no matter what you think of them. They just think the left was wrong. I know that’s hard to believe but it’s true. You look at the crazies that throw themselves in front of a camera and think that’s all 70 million of them. It’s not. Most would not tolerate having the constitution being thrown out. Bad things are gonna happen that you don’t like in the next four years, but it will still be the United States.
Then they shouldn’t have voted for that. Buyer’s regret on their part won’t matter.

He didn’t take power. He has been given power by a free and open election by a majority of voters.
They tolerated him doing it on January 6th enough to vote for him again in 2024.
They don’t believe that that’s what happened. Mostly, they think January 6th was just a protest that got out of hand.
Tolerating it because they are delusional or just liars is still tolerating it.
True, but that’s very weak evidence for the conjecture that they’d stand idly by as Trump declared himself President for life.

I’m sure most of them would cheer that, along with a declaration that he’s now God-King of America, non-whites are all being expelled from the country, non-Christians executed, and women being stripped of citizenship.
And they’ll believe Trump when he tells them he’s only suspending elections “until we can figure out what’s going on.”
