😕 You use your **hands** when you eat?! All high and mighty, aren’t we! No more scones for me, Mater, I’m off to play the grand piano!

Noteworthy? No, just slightly childish.

I’d accuse you of being my son, but he doesn’t know how to type yet.

The OP is looking for moral support for his method.

OP, I morally support your method. It’s not exactly the way I do it, but that does not matter. Enjoy your cake.

The OP is pretty much how I do it, except that after a few bites of each element I will test them together, and then decide which way to eat the rest. Occaisionally the combination will be better than the parts. But most of the time I fidn it tastes better to alternate between the elements.

Celtling just eats the frosting and goes on her merry way. 😉

This. Eating foods in an elaborate, fun way is something that children do.

Not that it isn’t fun for an adult from time to time, but it’s going to raise eyebrows in any sort of formal setting. I wouldn’t eat my cake that way in front of anyone I wanted to impress.

It’s a fine line between childlike and childish.

For me, this would be the latter. That said, do as you wish, if it pleases you, just don’t expect me, to have you, accompany me, to formal corporate events or weddings.

If you want to eat with the grown ups, you’ll have to eat like one, I’m afraid.

Never travel back in time and have lunch with 7-year-old me. Just sayin’.

I have an coworker eats bread based stuff like that. Fork through the inside of a wrap or burrito, then pick away at the tortilla or lavash. Same with meat stuffed pastries. For pizza, she just eats the toppings and dumps the rest.

Doesn’t seem like a big deal to me but, for whatever reason, some people get really bothered by it.
