# Is my son growing Pot?

So he started a garden and it looks like pot to me but it does not have a smell and i dont want to yell at him if its just something else.

The pot plants that I looked up online all have at least 7 leaves and your son’s plants only have 5.

I read that they have 5 to 9 lobes per leaf.
Here’s a picture labeled as “a young plant” [http://www.marijuanaseedbanks.com/images/marijuana\_leaf\_pics/images/grow\_weed.jpg](http://www.marijuanaseedbanks.com/images/marijuana_leaf_pics/images/grow_weed.jpg) and some of those only have 3 lobes.

Yup that’s cannabis. Still can’t work out how a naturally growing plant could be thought to be morally wrong though.

When it’s bigger than that. As it starts to flower, the smell gets rather distinctive. BTW, pot plants put out an odd number of leaves, ranging from 5 to 9, depending. But that’s definitely pot. I ought to know, I grew enough of the stuff back in my Alaskan days.
