# Is Palin evidence of McCain's incompetence as an executive?

THe same people who nominated George W. Bush rather than John McCain in 2000. Remember, 79% of the delegates at the convention this week think Bush has done well during his presidency.

Right, but who are they going to nominate at this late date? Who would they threaten McCain with if he doesn’t tow the party line? They’re unprepared to pull the rug out from under him.

No, they wouldn’t try to not nominate McCain. They’d try to nominate someone else as VEEP - I’m guessing Huckabee, Romney or Pawlenty. Mind, I don’t think they’d succeed. It might even have been a bluff. But as I understand it, that’s what they threatened.
