Technically, God isn’t bound by His commandments. They’re commands. A parent can tell a kid they must be home by midnight, and stay out themselves until 2, without “violating their own rules.” Just in the interests of building a complete list of possibilities… ---

He claims to be a combat veteran of the Korean War-which is not true (his father puled strings to keep him out of combat). He also lies about where he spends the huge amount of cash he brings in. He is the religious equivilent of Trudeau (the guy who tells you about “cures they don’t want you to know about”! ---

That’s actually my favorite one. Almost poetic on its own way. Though if you put a gun to my head, I’d guess that Robertson is just making the whole thing up. ---

It’s really much easier - not even **God** can defeat **Chuck Norris.** And since Chuck loves America, and God-based US-smacking will have to wait until after Chuck is gone. Seriously, who knows. People who think that they’re prophets can’t lose. They simply refuse to eat their Misses, while thumping any Hits that they somehow predict. Beyond that, Ole Jaweh has a history of ominous foreshadowing and pseudo-racketeering in leveraging His People. If a dire prediction comes to pass, Hit! God Wins! Yaaaaaaaaaaay God! If not, well, it’s like when a cat trips or falls - the cat meant to do it, on purpose, see? On. Purpose. So if a Dire Prediction misses, well, God meant it to be so, whether by mercy, or the inscrutable nature of God, or by Chuck Norris. See, a Prophet of God is a messenger of God, and so the the messages from God are by definition correct. Except when they’re not. Get it? It may be that God was too busy altering climatic and geologic factors in order to better fling Typhoons, Hurricanes, Floods, Earthquakes and Tsunamis, and even volcanic eruptions at selected enclaves of “Teh Gays.” At this point, Robertson is either, like LRH in his Twilight, a con-man too enmeshed in his creation to know the difference; or perhaps he’s just a bit (or very much) betwittered by dementia. The typical pattern for prophetic failure is to reset the clock without comment - repeat indefinitely as needed. ---
