It depends on whether the person is naked or nekkid. Naked (no clothes on) is fine. Nekkid (no clothes on and up to something) could well be indecent 😉 ---

Are naked zombies illegal? A couple years ago, a couple moved in across the street, two houses over, on the second floor. The second night there, she was folding clothes in the front room, no blinds or curtains, lights on, while naked. I happen to be having a smoke on the deck at the time, and glanced over that way, and did a double take. Did I just see what I thought I saw? I took a couple more drags, and a couple more peeks out of the corner of my eye - trying not to be obvious, then went in the house when her husband walked in the room (he was dressed). She was cute too. Blinds went up the next day. They moved out a few months later - odd. ---

I think what one does within the confines of their own home is their own business. HOWEVER, _confines_ means to keep within, to restrict. If you’re naked behind opaque boundaries like a wall or a window curtain or shade or are in low light then you’ve met that obligation. If you’re not making a reasonable effort or expectation of restricting your naked image out into public, if you’re sharing an obscene view via a window then the fact that window is the boundary of a private residence is really immaterial. If you allow, through intent or wanton neglect, your inappropriate image to move into the public sphere then you’ve committed indecent exposure. Prolly won’t find me complaining unless it’s an audience that could be harmed, like those kids. Also, “prancing” lends to a suspicion of intent. But that’s my ‘formal’ take on it. ---

It depends on the degree of difficulty required for a bystander to see you. If you and your deshabille are perfectly visible from a public vantage point, then yes, it is indecent exposure. But it a person has to come onto your front porch and kneel down in order to see through a crack in the blinds, then it is not. You decide where to draw the line through the gray area. ---

Would the indecent exposure law apply the same way if someone had their main window shades up while watching pornographic material on a big screen tv? ---

Indecent exposure applies to people, not pictures or movies. I suspect (IANAL) that what you’re describing would fall under distribution of pornography (or if a kid saw it, maybe contributing to the delinquency of a minor?).
